It's packed full of great action sequences, mostly likable characters and some genuinely relevant social elements. But even as weak and illogical as it sometimes is, this is easily the most rounded, complete story WWE Studios has ever worked on. Unfortunately, the script still leaves some room for improvement. The flaws of the previous outings (bad direction, bad acting and a weak script) are mostly cleared away, thanks to director Tim Matheson's sharp, tight direction and a few decent performances from genuine character actors who've long perfected their work in genre pictures ( Tim Matheson and Keith David) as well as the film's principal cast of relative newcomers and TV actors. This is WWE Studio's fourth major feature film since they became a full-blown production house (following The Condemned, The Marine and See No Evil), and thankfully it's also the studio's best effort to date. Kennedy (Ken Anderson) in a great supporting role. The major difference between this entry and others is that this particular chapter has the coveted WWE stamp of approval, and features WWE wrestler Mr. Same goes for this latest action-packed installment, which pits a team of Navy SEALs against the Colombian government and a band of nasty guerillas, stirred to action by their government's brutal deeds. Each film seems to have some sort of socio-political edge as well, describing and roughly outlining a current ongoing world crisis, torn from the headlines. This made the latest direct-to-video chapter, Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia my very first foray into the popular franchise.įrom what I've gathered, each film is pretty simplistically plotted, as a group of military mercenaries/officers are dropped behind enemy lines by accident, or on purpose, and nearly forgotten by their governments. I never saw the love-it-or-hate-it Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson theatrical outing, nor did I check out the direct-to-video sequel, Behind Enemy Lines: Axis of Evil. ![]() I have to admit, I'm at a bit of loss when it comes to the Behind Enemy Lines series.
